Individual Therapy for Adults in Napanee and Throughout Ontario.
You can rewrite your story.
The most important relationship you have is with yourself.
Whether you are seeking assistance to cope with a specific challenge or are simply looking to dive deep into your innermost psyche and truly get to know yourself, I can be your guide.
Embrace Who You Are.
Together in a safe and brave space, we can work on the challenges affecting your life. This might include:
Examining the stories influencing your life (“I’m depressed/anxious/alone”) and exploring other possibilities that may not be getting as much attention
Deepening your connection with Self, your relationships and the environment around you
Navigating the pressures of ‘doing it all’ (parenting, work, self-care, continuing education, etc) in our fast-paced, capitalistic society
Exploring who you are in relationships including past traumas, disconnection and other challenges
Addressing the impacts of various ‘isms’ on our lives - racism, heterosexism, able-ism, economic inequality, colonialism, sexism, etc.
You are the Expert of Your Life.
Celebrating your uniqueness, all sessions are geared towards your individual needs, strengths, and goals. As a Therapist, I serve as a guide as you make decisions about your goals and the best ways to achieve them. Drawing from specialized training and experience, I incorporate an integrative approach for each client; this provides an individualized and high-quality experience. While I use my expertise to guide, you use your own expertise to lead. This is your journey - I am here to help.
Feel Seen and Heard.
I believe that we, as human beings, have an innate need to feel seen and understood by our peers and loved ones. In many cases, whether it be through upbringing or culture, we have been taught to keep our feelings to ourselves- to repress our need for expression. My practice is a safe space where I encourage expression and exploration of your innermost thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. You will always be met with gentleness, compassion, and heartfelt listening.
Strengthen Your Inner Knowing.
Everyone can benefit from therapy. Some people might want support with a specific challenge while others have a nagging feeling that something is missing. Oftentimes, we simply want to embrace life with everything we have, to be curious, to gain powerful insights into who we are, and to achieve a meaningful life, in whichever way we find more valuable. At the heart of each of us is a vast amount of inner wisdom - we can explore this together through mind, body, and heart.
My Approach.
The therapeutic relationship is an important part of my work. I want people to feel comfortable to be themselves and not edit their stories or experiences. I acknowledge how challenging it is to be vulnerable and will trust that you know what’s right for you to share and when.
I use various modalities including narrative therapy, mindfulness, trauma-informed practice, neuroscience and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
